Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan
Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor
Bringing scholarly research together with journalistic practice. Principal areas: media and information literacy, the transformation of digital journalism, and the scholarly analysis of Central Asia's media landscape.
Biography and Appointments
I began my career as a news journalist, and that experience shaped how I see the profession. How newsrooms change, and how the craft of working with text and visual content is being remade, remain the questions that hold my attention.
My central argument is that journalism requires a firm scholarly foundation. Any transformation of the field should first be studied and understood, and only then put into practice. This approach connects academic knowledge to the needs of the media industry, and international experience to national priorities.
